Since January 1st 2017, Hfiltration has adapted its product range to the European Regulations by installing the electric motors IE3.
Through Directive EC 2005/32 (Energy-using-Products – EuP) and later with the Directive EC 2009/125(Energy-related-Products – ERP), the European Union wanted to improve the efficiency of the products that consume electricity thanks to harmonization at community level of planning specifications.
With the Regulation EC 640/2009 of 22th July were issued specific regulations for the ecodesign of electric motors and were identified the minimum energy efficiency requirements for electric motors, based on the IE code defined by the International Electrotechnical Commission – EN 30 60034: 2008 “rotating electrical machines”.
In addition to the minimum energy efficiency requirements, the Regulation provides deadlines for entry into force of these requirements:
1. From 16th 2011, motors shall not be less efficient than the IE2 efficiency level.
2.From 1st January 2015, motors with a rated output of 7,5 – 375 kW shall not be less efficient than the IE3 efficiency level, or meet the IE2 efficiency level and be equipped with a variable speed drive.
3. From 1st January 2017, all motors with a rated output of 0,75 – 375 kW shall not be less efficient than the IE3 efficiency level, or meet the IE2 efficiency level, and be equipped with a variable speed drive.
HFiltration, in addition to having aligned to the regulations already mentioned, from January 1st 2017 provides the installation of the electric motor IE3 even where legislation prescribes a motor with a lower efficiency level.
